Reservation Policy

The terms and conditions mentioned below apply to all bookings for Hotel The Exchange made through this website. Hotel The Exchange is a company registered in The Netherlands whose registered office is at Damrak 50 - 1012 LL Amsterdam (hereafter “we” or “our”).


All rates shown online are per room per night (unless otherwise stated). Rates are including VAT and excluding local tourism levies, if applicable. Rates are subject to change without notice. However, your rate is guaranteed once you receive a booking confirmation.


Upon arrival you will be asked to produce a valid credit card for the hotel to take authorization. The hotel does not accept any cash payments or deposits. Therefore, payment must be settled by credit card, debit card, or bank card.  Online payment is possible using debit/credit cards and iDEAL.

We accept the following types of credit cards:
- EuroCard/MasterCard
- Visa
- Amex


Within the room type of your choice, the exact room you will have is a surprise. We will book a specific requested room at €35. 

We are at all times entitled not to accept a reservation, or to attach additional conditions to the acceptance of a reservation.

Cancellation policy

We use two different cancellation policies (as mentioned below), depending on the reservation you make. When we change or cancel a booking, we will let you know by using the contact details provided when making the booking. 

Refundable reservations

Cancellations or modifications of reservations without restrictions are free of charge up to 24 hours before the arrival date. Please take in consideration that the arrival date starts at 00.00 hour local time. Should you cancel or modify within 24 hours before arrival, or in case you do not show up, 100% of the first night will be charged.

Non refundable reservations

It is not possible to modify or cancel this reservation in any case. The total costs for all room nights, excluding local tourism levies (if applicable) will be charged directly after your reservation is made. Local tourism levies (if applicable) still remains to be paid in the hotel. Please note that the credit card which is used to make to booking needs to be shown upon check-in. The name of the booker needs to be the same as the name on the credit card. If this is not possible please ask Reception in advance for a third party authorization form.


Children under the age of 5 can stay free of charge at our hotel, when sharing a room with at least one paying adult. Availability of suitable rooms is limited and portable beds may need to be used where such accommodation is sought.

Guests with impaired mobility

The hotel endeavors to offer the same high quality facilities to our less able bodied guests. Where possible, special facilities include spacious and open bathrooms, and lifts in public areas. Guide dogs are welcome in our hotel. Please check with the hotel if you have any special requirements. We will do our best to accommodate your wishes.


Pets are not allowed in the hotel.

Car parking

The hotel does not offer parking facilities. However, we can suggest several external parking facilities for our guests. For information on parking availability and charges, please find more information on our contact page on this website.


Please note that the hotel is fully non smoking. In case guests do smoke in the hotel, a fine of €150,- will be charged.

Arrival and departure

Hotel rooms are guaranteed from 3pm on the day of arrival. Rooms must be vacated by 11am on the day of departure. Late check-out until 1pm is possible, depending on availability. 


You will be asked to guarantee your booking with a valid credit card. In case you have booked a refundable reservation, no payment is taken from your credit card at the time of booking or upon check-in. Payment is taken upon departure or, in the event of cancellation, in accordance with our cancellation terms.

Complaints or comments

We take our guest satisfaction very seriously. Any complaint or comment regarding a stay at our hotel should be made in the first instance to the hotel's duty manager at the time of your stay so that we can resolve it immediately.

Although every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information contained online, we cannot accept responsibility for any errors or omissions, and reserve the right to vary, amend, supplement or cancel any of the information or offers featured online at any time. In case the above terms and conditions do not sufficiently foresee in any case, Hotel The Exchange will decide regarding this issue.
