HOTEL IN THE CENTRE OF AMSTERDAM

Hotel The Exchange is located in the centre of Amsterdam, within walking distance of the masterpieces in the Rijksmuseum, the history of the Anne Frank House and the best restaurants and cafes. Tour boats are docked within a few-minutes' walk from our front door. The well-loved '9 Streets' shopping area is a 15-minute walk from the hotel.

THE ROOMS

Hotel The Exchange offers 61 unique rooms located in three buildings, the oldest building dates back to the 17th century. Each room at Hotel The Exchange has its own story and is designed by young fashion designers from the Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI). Dream away in a suite inspired by Marie Antoinette or wake up under the collar of Rembrandt.

Designers

Eight freshly graduated and final-year students of AMFI (Design & Fashion and Fashion & Branding) were selected to dress the rooms of hotel The Exchange. Together with the Textile Museum in Tilburg special fabrics were being developed for the outfits of the hotel rooms.

INA MATT was responsible for the interior design of the hotel and has managed the AMFI students who fitted out the rooms.

ONSWERK Architects took on the assignment to renovate the interior and connect the three buildings into one hotel.

In 2018, Hotel The Exchange opened a new collection of 6 rooms, designed by Dutch fashion label MAISON the FAUX.

Maxivive a blend of fashion, art, and activism from Lagos dressed room 619 'The Lagos room a.k.a. Black Diamond' in April 2022.

Hotel The Exchange is a concept of Otto Nan and Suzanne Oxenaar, who also initiated Lloyd Hotel & Cultural Embassy (world’s first 1- to 5-star hotel in Amsterdam), Llove Hotel (pop-up hotel in Tokyo) and SWEETS hotel.
